Headaphonia

_MG_8414-4

Headaphonia is a procedure to develop forms that do not follow logical criteria, but are based only on subjective ideas and formal parallels, which invite the viewer to make personal associations.
Multilayered lights and sounds arise in which the fragility and instability of our seemingly certain reality is challenged.Headaphonia deals with the movement of the human body, mind and light. By doing so, new sequences are constantly created which reveal an inseparable relationship between motion and sound.Created with: Physical Movement / Lights / Live Camera / Pure Data / MaxMSP / Boss RC-50 / Viola / Zither /
A project by „CELSIUS-4“ artist group.

BYOB Prague – Interactive Table

Interactive image table during BYOB festival in Prague 2014.
BYOB is a celebration of the new world we live in and a glimpse of what computing could look like in the future. Today the internet is confined to screens. Tomorrow information will surround us, composing our surfaces, defining our spaces, enmeshing itself with the ether. A moving image is never an object, and when it is coupled with the increased flexibility of portable projection, the realm of experience quickly expands. Kunst aus Licht und Farbe
Ein Workshop im Rahmen der Ausstellung
After Year Zero. Geografien von Kollaborationen seit 1945.
Haus der Kulturen der Welt
19.09. – 24.11. 2013

More info: http://drawnsound.org/
Media artists Patrick K.-H. and Oleg Makarov research in the depth of basic media-archeology, working with “drawn sound” technology of 1920’s.

“Drawn sound” (also graphical sound, cutted sound) appeared as the way to produce “sound track” at film tape: converting sound to image (that is graphical spectrum of sound), and back, image (sound spectrum) to sound. At that time, it comes to be the only method to create literally every sound, both “real” and “unreal”, just from drawing. Now, it belongs to forgotten but still fruitful branches of media evolution.

Patrick K.-H. and Oleg Makarov recreate old-school technics by nowdays means: Max/MSP/Jitter, cameras / lenses, video projection, multiscreen, etc.
Also, they employ text-sound composition, sound installation, spatial sound approach, and algorithmic composition. Generally, they define interactivity as an axis for all and every media and data involved into a piece, in order to handle appeared meanings towards this axis.

Berlan Alle

Berlan Allee – promenade transfrontalière // Bazar okzidental
Audiovisual live performance, presented august 17th at Panke Berlin. The project is a converging narration of cultural origins. Inspired by the individual backgrounds of the artists, the narration explores acoustic textures and visual shapes in a mutual interactivity. Framed by the origins of the artists, the performance sets an unique path of correlation of traditional music instruments and computer generated signals.

Thanks to Patrick K.-H. (Anton Iakhontov) for providing video loops.
